May 2000

Fiesta time at Barangay Don Gregorio Antigua, Borbon (i.e ka-Goyong) is every May 3. People from all barangays converge into the town wearing their best to shop, bet on the cockfights and just be merry. The high point of the day is of course the bayle (dance). It was one of those times that the whole family attends and see everyone again.

Lolo Goyong's birthday as we all know is May 25 and despite his "non-presence" we still celebrate his birthday by keeping his memory alive. Besides, this is a good excuse to have a party with the relatives!

Yet another cousin will be changing her marital status on May 28, 2000.

Ritchie and Amos Dyson will exchange vows at the Self Realization Fellowship Hollywood Temple, Los Angeles, California. There will be a bridal shower on May 13, 2000 and if there are questions, you can contact Rina.

If you plan to see the movie "The Next Best Thing" starring Madonna, keep an eye out for the scene during the yoga class. You will most likely see the familiar face of Ritchie whose role was one of the yoga students.

As you all know we are planning to have an Antigua reunion by December 2001. The members of the organizing committee are Nellie, Riza, Christ'l, Olive, Eddie and myself. We welcome any suggestions that you may have to make it a truly memorable and enjoyable event! We hope to hear from you soon.

A baby girl Antigua was born to Raul and Jackie on October 19, 2000. After 4 boys, Raul said she was going to be their last baby--or so he says.

It is baby boom time- Richie and Amos are expecting their first child nest year, the last week of February. Greg and I are expecting our first child as well, on Papa's birthday on April 26.

What's up?

Edwin & Sofei had a baby girl last weekend! And her name is Paloma!

The stork came by again. This time in Minnesota to Mike and Ellie Antigua. Thay have a baby boy named Gregory Michael.
